| Pamela H. Pilch |
| Pamela H. Pilch, J.D., LCCE, is a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator, former diocesan NFP instructor, and the "stay-at-homeschooling" mom of three young sons. Married to her husband, John, for nineteen years, Pam is a retired attorney (UVa. Law, '93) who continues to indulge her dual interests in law and mothering in a variety of ways. Pam has led statewide legislative efforts on behalf of at-home parents and, during her ten -years' service as a La Leche League Leader, has specialized in legal issues related to breastfeeding as a member of LLL of Michigan's Professional Liaison Department. An adult convert to the Catholic faith, Pam is involved in work promoting healthy birth experiences as a doula and midwifery student.
Earlier in life, Pam was an outspoken "pro-choice", anti-child, "radical" feminist, who thought only of career, career, career. The discovery of NFP and "mothering through breastfeeding" knocked her off her horse on the proverbial road to Damascus, and she now spends a lot of time eating crow over all the things she "always" said she would NEVER do - like have kids, breastfeed kids, carry kids around in slings, sleep in a family bed...or have kids that cry on airplanes. Through the discovery of Mulieris Dignitatem and other writings on the New Feminism propounded by our Holy Father Pope John Paul the Great, Pam has been blessed to have discovered a new way of "being feminist." |
